Beagle Sailboat

Named after the famed vessel that carried Charles Darwin to the Galapagos Islands in the 1830s, the Beagle Motor Sailer (M/S) is a special ship for cruising the Galapagos Islands.   With its romantically dramatic sails, this stylish and intimate 105-foot teak-decked, steel-hulled Brigantine schooner is perfect for a small group of friends, family holidays, special interest groups, or for celebrating important events such as honeymoons and anniversaries.   The accommodations on board the English-built Beagle Motor Sailer serve 12 passengers in 6+ double (bunk-bed) cabins, each with air-conditioning and its own small private bathroom with a hot shower and a flush lavatory.   All around the wide decks, comfortable seating allows you to choose sunshine or shade for lounging and wildlife watching, while there are yoga mats on board and ample space is available for stretching or calisthenics during any free time.   Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served on board, with the exception of the day you visit Puerto Ayora, where you will enjoy a meal in the highlands of Santa Cruz. The cuisine blends Ecuadorian and continental fare, and it is served al fresco on deck or in the saloon. Coffee and tea are also available on deck, as are cold drinks that include beer and a selection of wines and cocktails, which you can purchase from the well-stocked bar. Energizing snacks, especially at teatime, round out your daily menu.   The ship also has a lounge that houses a small library of Galapagos literature, as well as a selection of games, a TV, and a video recorder. In addition, four double kayaks and snorkeling equipment (fins, masks, and snorkels) are on board and available for passengers’ recreational use.   The sailer’s maintenance protocol and safety equipment meet the highest standards, while the vessel provides personal onboard service by a superbly trained 5-member crew (captain, helmsman, steward, cook, and engineer). In addition, the ship’s naturalist will lead you on daily land excursions onto sites within the National Park, providing you with a wealth of information about the geological and human history of the islands. In addition, this guide will share their thorough knowledge about every aspect of the islands’ intriguing flora and fauna.   The Beagle Motor Sailer is a first-class ship owned by a traditional Galapagos family who takes great pride in offering a highly personal Galapagos experience to all their customers from all over the world. Being owner-operated, this means that you will receive hands-on service for all of your needs and comforts as a guest, while the vessel herself receives meticulous maintenance and attention.
